Itinerary
Day 1 – ARRIVAL IN MADRID
Upon arrival at the airport you will be welcome by the Gamma Tours guide; transfer to the hotel. Time at leisure to relax and to refresh up. Overnight.
Day 2 – MADRID
This city is the capital of Spain and the political and financial centre. During the visit, you go through the streets, squares and most important avenues, seeing at the same time from the outside different monuments such as the Recoletos Promenade, Plaza Colon, the Cibeles Square, the Cortes or Parliament, the Paseo del Prado (where the Prado Museum is located), the Gran Via, the Plaza de España and the Plaza de Oriente where the Royal Palace and its gardens are located. Then you stroll through the “Old Madrid”, the Habsburg Quarter, walking along the Main Street and seeing the City Hall Square, the Main Square and some old back streets.
Please don’t forget to visit some of the important museums of the city like the Prado Museum, Thyssen-Bornemisza and the National Centre of Art Queen Sofia and some of other places or monuments. Overnight.
Day 3 – MADRID – AVILA – VALLADOLID – 250 Km
The beautiful walled city of Avila was designated World Heritage City; strolling into the walls you can admire some beautiful palaces and mansions. Some mileage far you may admire the castle of Arevalo. Continue to Valladolid. Overnight.
Day 4 – VALLADOLID AND ITS SURROUNDINGS – 100 Km
Besides the marvellous façade of the National Museum of Sculpture this city houses some interesting monuments; in its surroundings, there are several Castles such as the Castle of Torrelobatón, completely restored, built on the 13 and 14 centuries and some others that are worthy to be visited, besides the landscape of Castile. Overnight in Valladolid.
Day 5 – VALLADOLID – SIMANCAS – MEDINA DEL CAMPO – 150 Km
In Simancas, you can admire from outside the castle completely restored that houses the General Archives of the Crown of Castile. Driving some kilometres more you arrive in Medina del Campo whose days of splendour was in medieval times having some relevant monuments that you can admire from outside.
At the edge of the town you can visit the well preserved and partly refurbished the Castle of La Mota, full of history and worthy to be visited. Return to Valladolid. Overnight.
Day 6 – VALLADOLID – SEGOVIA – 150 Km
On the way make a stop in the medieval town of Cuellar; its Walls, the Castle and San Martín church were designated National Historical and Artistic Monuments.
Making a diversion you head to Coca; the Mudejar architectural style Castle of Coca is one of the finest examples of brick military architecture.
Continue to Segovia. Overnight.
Day 7 – SEGOVIA City Tour – MADRID
Segovia has some monuments designated World Heritage Sites such as the Roman Aqueduct built in the first century AD is an engineering gem. Besides you can admire the Main Square, the Cathedral, some small very beautiful churches and at one end of this walled enclosure you can see the outline of the Alcazar Fortress, built on the 13C, which exterior makes quite an impact on the visitor given its 80-m. high tower. Free time.
You head to Madrid. Overnight.
Day 8 – MADRID DEPARTURE
Free time till the transfer to the airport where you make the formalities for boarding to your next destination.
