Itinerary
Day 1 – ARRIVAL IN MADRID
Arrival at the airport of the capital of Spain where the guide will welcome you. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 2 – MADRID – City tour
You do a panoramic tour to the city which is the political and financial centre of the country with numerous and important landmarks. You will also visit the Jardines Botanicos Reales (Royal Botanic Gardens) and the Buen Retiro Park, which is one of the green area of the city, with luscious forests, elegant gardens with fountains, columns and statues. Then you can walk through two beautiful gardens near the Royal Palace.
Return to the hotel. Time at leisure. Overnight.
Day 3 – MADRID – ARANJUEZ – TOLEDO – MADRID – 200 Km
In the 14C a Royal Palace was built and in the 16C were designed a new avenue full of trees and wonderful gardens. In Aranjuez was founded the first Botanic Garden in Europe during the XVI century. In the following century, these gardens were completely transformed giving them their present form.
Then you head to Toledo which was designated World Heritage City. In Medieval times, it was the meeting point of four different cultures; it also was the former capital of Spain. Accompanied by the official local guide you see from outside the most relevant monuments of this city such as the Cathedral, the Santo Tome church and a couple Synagogues built in medieval times; some of these monuments were designated a World Heritage Sites.
Return to Madrid. Overnight.
Day 4 – MADRID – SEGOVIA – MADRID – 225 Km
Segovia is a World Heritage City, prolific from Roman times until the 18C.
The Gardens in Segovia are without a doubt, the highlight of this tour. The Granja de San Ildefonso is a Royal Palace, nowadays converted into a Parador. The gardens are very big; the landscape designers and the sculptors got their inspiration from the gardens of the Versailles Palace. Its most spectacular features are its fountains and the water games that are the best of their kind in Europe. Return to Madrid. Overnight.
Day 5 – MADRID DEPARTURE
Time at leisure till transfer to the airport where you do all formalities for boarding the plane to your next destination.
